Advocacy for the patients that awareness campaigns leave out of the frame.
Fifteen years in healthcare. A lifetime of showing up for patients.
Trish Michelle is a healthcare professional and patient advocate whose work centers healthcare equity and pushes back on pinkwashing, the practice of selling awareness while patients go without support.
As Chief Community Officer of The Breasties, she helps lead a nonprofit community of more than 50,000 people impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers: survivors, previvors, thrivers living with metastatic disease, and caregivers. She was part of that community almost from the start and joined its leadership team in 2022.
In 2020 she founded Reclaim October, a grassroots alternative to corporate awareness campaigns that has raised nearly $200,000 for metastatic breast cancer research at Magee-Womens Research Institute.
She lives and works in New York City.
